Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide

• Knock off loose dirt: Let any heavy mud dry slightly, then use a dry, soft-to-medium bristle brush to whisk away loose dirt, hair, and arena sand from both the outer shell and the inner lining.  Use a small soft wire brush on the velcro to remove stubborn dirt. 

• Pre-rinse: Spray or rinse the boots down thoroughly with a hose using cool or lukewarm water to wash away loose sweat and surface grime. 

• Apply mild soap: Add a small amount of mild soap (such as a gentle liquid dish detergent, specialized neoprene cleaner, or mild horse shampoo) to the boot. 

• Scrub gently: Use a soft sponge or a flexible brush to gently clean the neoprene body and the outer support slings. Take care not to aggressively shred or distort the Velcro hook-and-loop fasteners. 

• Rinse thoroughly: Flush all soap residue completely out of the material with clean water. Leftover soap can irritate a horse's skin or degrade the elastic and neoprene over time. 

• Air dry: Hang the boots securely by their straps on a rack, fence, or line in a well-ventilated, shaded area out of direct harsh sunlight. 

IMPORTANT DON'TS

• No washing machines: Never put Iconoclast boots in a mechanical washing machine or spin cycle, as the agitation can break down the internal contour structure and ruin the heavy-duty Velcro. 

• No clothes dryers: Never use a mechanical dryer or place them near intense direct heat sources like wood burners, heaters, or hot sun, which will melt or warp the neoprene.

• Ensure full drying: Always make sure the boots are 100% dry on both the inside and outside before putting them back on your horse's legs to prevent moisture buildup, fungal issues, or skin scratches.
